UNDERSTANDING THE EVIDENCE
What a seal can tell you.
Does a seal guarantee that content is true?
No. It provides verifiable information about the sealing: who sealed it, for what purpose and when. It does not judge whether a statement is true.
Does Seal Media prove who created a work first?
The public record documents the sealing and when it occurred. It does not prove who created the work first.
Do all media verification methods provide the same information?
Verification through a camera or screen sharing identifies the work and its associated publisher. Checking a copy for changes requires the file or URL verification process.
What does Seal Effacement do?
When erasure is requested, a key is destroyed. The file already shared no longer reveals the person’s identity, and Seal issues an attestation. No rows are deleted.
Is it only for businesses?
No. Seal LIFAIO serves individuals and organizations. The choice depends on the use: for example, an individual creator can seal their media.
