The problem
A fraudster intercepts or imitates a supplier’s invoice, changes the bank details, and the customer pays the wrong account. A PDF that looks right proves nothing. A verification link in the email can itself be fake.
How it works — for your business
- In your Seal portal, choose any file (PDF, Word, image or another format) and give it a reference. It never leaves your computer: its SHA-256 fingerprint is computed in your browser.
- Seal gives you a code such as D-7KQ4M9TX and this sentence for the invoice or email:
Document Seal code: D-7KQ4M9TX — verify it at seal.lifaio.com/doc. Click nothing.
- Optionally, set a validity period in days.
- If the invoice is cancelled or reissued, cancel it or mark it replaced in one click, giving the new code. Every later verification reports this.
How it works — for your customer
- Type seal.lifaio.com/doc yourself. Click no link received with the document.
- Enter the code and select the received file. It stays on your device.
- Read the result:
- Authentic — identical, byte for byte, to what the issuer sealed. The verified issuer’s legal name, reference, date and public phone number are shown.
- Does not match — altered (bank details, amount…) or re-saved, converted, printed and scanned. Do not pay; call the issuer at a number you already know, not the one on the document.
- Cancelled — the issuer cancelled this document.
- Replaced — the issuer replaced it with another document; verify that one.
- Expired or Unknown code.
For finance and IT teams
Batch API: POST /api/documents-sceller — up to 1,000 fingerprints per call, computed on your side. No file is sent.
Cancel/replace API: POST /api/document-revoquer.
Only the organisation’s account holders can seal or cancel. Delegated managers cannot.
Verification is rate-limited per IP address.
